The Little Girl at the Table

I did not come to this work through a textbook. I came through my grandmother’s kitchen.

Growing up, food was never just food. It was the reason people gathered. My mom and grandmother turned every occasion into something worth showing up for, and I was there for all of it, helping set the table, watching flavors come together, absorbing the quiet ritual of a meal made with intention. My grandmother’s house was always alive with aromas. Fire roared in the fireplace, lighting up the house with a beautiful yellow-orange hue. My family’s faces lining the table, happy, laughing, joking with one another.

Each of us kids was poured a tiny glass of wine so we could toast our appreciation with the grown-ups.

I felt seen. I felt like I belonged to something.

That early sense of coming home to yourself, to your senses, to the people you love, never left me.

What did leave me, early, was the assumption that everyone experiences the world the same way.

My sister and I grew up in the same house, ate the same food, sat at the same table. And yet our preferred flavor profiles were completely different. Same genes. Same upbringing.

Entirely different inner worlds.

That observation planted something in me. A fascination with why people's experiences are different because of their perception. What shapes our unique flavor profile. What it means that your body has been sending you signals your whole life that no one ever taught you to read.

I have been chasing that question ever since. Not just in wine. In truth. In the way people learn to trust themselves, or stop trusting themselves. In the moments where someone finally comes home to their own knowing.

The Search, and What I Found

I went deep into three of the most respected wine education bodies in the world. A Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the WSET. A Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators. A Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

And still, the questions that mattered most to me went unanswered.

Why do I taste this and you do not? How do I help someone find their own language for experience rather than borrow mine?

Why do so many people sit at a table and defer to whoever speaks with the most confidence, even when something in them already knows?

A sommelier told me to keep tasting. A winemaker told me to connect the flavor to my childhood. The guidance was sincere. A map was not there.

So I built one.

FlavorDNA™ and What It Actually Unlocks

FlavorDNA™ began as my own framework for understanding what my senses had always been telling me. A way of organizing the signals my body sent long before anyone else’s rules could override them.

When I started sharing it, something consistent happened.

People who had spent years deferring at the table, ordering what sounded safe, nodding along to whoever spoke with the most confidence, sat down inside a Laveche experience and found their own language.

Not wine trivia. Not a memorized list of varietals.

A real, personal understanding of their own unique flavor profile, one shaped by the beliefs and experiences that built it, the biology that drives it, and what their senses had always been trying to tell them.

This is where self-trust is built. This is the inner work. And the truth people walk away with is not about wine. It is about themselves.

What you discover inside a Laveche experience goes far beyond the glass. You leave with a language for your own instincts, one you can carry into every moment where something in you already knows the answer.

WHO THIS
IS FOR

This work is for people who are ready.

  • Ready to stop outsourcing their knowledge to whoever is loudest in the room.

  • Ready to trust what they feel, what they sense, what their body has been communicating all along.

  • Ready to use a shared sensory experience as a doorway into something deeper.

If you have ever felt like you were following everyone else's lead instead of your own, or something in you is ready for a different kind of experience, this is for you.

I lead every experience alongside my partner Chris Lavin, a Certified Wine Educator and Advanced Sommelier. Between us we have spent over 57 years across vineyards, cellars, and Michelin-starred tables.

We have done the work so you do not have to start from scratch. What we have built together is an environment where the depth is always present and the intimidation never is.

The Through Line

The little girl helping her grandmother set the table is still very much present in the woman who designed FlavorDNA™.

I have always believed that food and wine are not really about sustenance. They are about connection. About the magic that happens when people gather around something and pay attention to it together.

About the particular kind of knowing that comes from sharing a meal, a glass, an experience with someone you love.

Laveche is the fullest expression of that belief.

It is the experience I always needed. Built so you do not have to wait as long as I did to come home to yourself.
